Of course you should first take the reverb tank out and see if that's indeed the problem, you can see if any of the springs are broken by simply sliding it out of the pouch and turning the unit over. Take it loose, slide the old unit out of the naugahide pouch and unplug it, plug in and slide the new unit back into the pouch and screw it back into the bottom of the amp.Easy! Simply unplug the amp from any power source, then take the reverb tank out of the bottom of the amp, it's inside a naugahide pouch and held inside the bottom of the amp by two screws. There's nothing to changing it out either. I ordered a new reverb tank from Amplified Parts for around $20 bucks. That's pretty much unfixable (My amp tech tried to solder it but it didn't hold) but the good news is it's a cheap and easy fix. The same thing happened to my original Blues Deluxe, it turned one of the springs in the reverb tank had broken. If its working and sounds ok, why 'fix' it ? I know nothing about mods for these amps. If none of the above works, get it serviced. Got another Fender style reverb equipped amp? Swap tanks. You can open the bag, and should should see that the tank itself has two little RCA type plugs, the cable itself may be faulty. These modern accutronics tanks usually are in a bag. If it hasn't, and the tubes all 'look' good' its possible the connection from the driver side of the amp to the tank itself is faulty. If they all have a good red glow, turn the amp on, and plug in, see if the re-seating has fixed it. Get a replacement, match the type carefully, it should be marked on it.
If one is obviously dark It may be faulty.
Turn amp on in standbye, and look at the tubes, each one should have a red glow. Leave the metal shields off the small pre-amp tubes. One is the driver tube I believe - most Fender amps use a tube driver and a little transformer for the driver circuit. With amp off and cool, carefully unplug and re-seat each of the smaller tubes - they are the preamp tubes.
If you turn the amp on and tap the spring reverb 'tank' does it make a splash or sproing noise? If so its possible the driver tube or circuit has a fault.
